Праздник Богоявления в Норт-Порте

Заключительным, третьим праздником Рождественского цикла является Праздник Крещения Господня!

Он также носит название Богоявления, потому что во время Крещения Иисуса Христа, Сына Божия, произошло явление Бога Троицы: Сын Божий крестился в водах Иордана, Дух Святой в виде голубя сошел на Него, а голос Отца Небесного провозгласил: «Сей есть Сын Мой возлюбленный, в Котором Мое благоволение».

Согласно уставу Православной Церкви, вечером 18 января было отслужено Великое повечерие с литией, во время которой освятили пять хлебов, вино, елей и зерно.

Затем последовала Утреня с полиелеем, на которой прихожан помазали святым елеем и раздали освященные хлеба.

В канонах и стихирах Праздника воспевается, как Господь пришел на Иордан, чтобы освятить воды и приготовить человечество к Крещению и духовному обновлению.

На всенощном бдении и Божественной Литургии пел смешанный хор под управлением регента Наталии Клюсовой. В завершение всенощного бдения служащий священник, отец Аркадий, поздравил всех с Праздником Богоявления.

В сам день Праздника, в воскресенье, Божественную Литургию совершили настоятель храма архимандрит Стефан, иерей Даниил Соболев, иеродиакон Паисий и диакон Александр. На службе собралось множество прихожан и гостей храма, многие из которых причастились. После Литургии на улице перед храмом состоялся чин Великого освящения воды.

Отец настоятель поздравил всех с Праздником Богоявления, пожелав помощи Божией, благодати обновления и очищения через святую крещенскую воду.

Праздничный день традиционно завершился трапезой и общением прихожан и монахов.

The Feast of Theophany in North Port

The final and third celebration of the Christmas cycle is the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord!

It is also called the Feast of Theophany because, during the Baptism of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the manifestation of the Holy Trinity occurred: the Son of God was baptized in the waters of the Jordan, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove, and the voice of the Heavenly Father proclaimed, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

According to the rules of the Orthodox Church, on the evening of January 18, the Great Compline with Lity was served, during which five loaves of bread, wine, oil, and grain were blessed.

This was followed by Matins with the Polyeleos, during which the parishioners were anointed with holy oil and received blessed bread.

The canons and hymns of the Feast glorify how the Lord came to the Jordan to sanctify the waters and prepare humanity for Baptism and spiritual renewal.

At the All-Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy, a mixed choir under the direction of choir director Natalia Klyusova sang. At the conclusion of the Vigil, the presiding priest, Father Arkadii, congratulated everyone on the Feast of Theophany.

On the day of the Feast itself, Sunday, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the rector of the church, Archimandrite Stefan, Priest Daniel Sobolev, Hierodeacon Paisios, and Deacon Alexander. The service was attended by many parishioners and guests of the church, many of whom received Communion. After the Liturgy, the Great Blessing of the Waters took place outdoors in front of the church.

The rector congratulated everyone on the Feast of Theophany, wishing them God’s help, the grace of renewal, and purification through the holy baptismal water.

The festive day traditionally concluded with a meal and fellowship between parishioners and monks.
