Неделя 29-я по Пятидесятнице. Попразднство Рождества Христова.

12 января была неделя по Рождестве Христовом. В это воскресенье, помимо воскресных стихир 4-го гласа, особенно вспоминались святой пророк и царь Давид, святой праведный Иосиф Обручник и святой апостол Иаков, брат Господень (сын Иосифа от первого брака).

Накануне, в субботу, иеромонах Аркадий и диакон Александр совершили Всенощное бдение. На Всенощном бдении в стихирах, канонах и других песнопениях прославлялся родившийся в Вифлееме и воскресший Господь Иисус Христос. Также прославлялись святые — царь Давид, праведный Иосиф и святой апостол Иаков, который был первым епископом Иерусалимским.

Особенно торжественно и проникновенно звучали слова катавасий Рождественского канона «Христос рождается — славите!» в Волынском напеве. Богослужебные песнопения исполнили архимандрит Стефан и иеродиакон Паисий.

Завершилось Всенощное бдение пением колядок, в которых прославлялся новорожденный Богомладенец Христос.

Воскресный день начался с акафиста Почаевской иконе Божией Матери, который совершил иеромонах Аркадий. По окончании акафиста он помазал всех молящихся святым елеем.

Божественную Литургию возглавил настоятель храма архимандрит Стефан в сослужении монастырских диаконов — отцов Паисия и Александра. В этот день в евангельском чтении воспоминались первые мученики за Христа — младенцы, убитые воинами царя Ирода. На эту тему в конце Литургии архимандрит Стефан произнес проповедь.

По окончании Службы братия поздравили всех с Рождественскими праздниками и вручили каждому присутствующему небольшие сладкие подарки. Завершилось праздничное богослужение общей трапезой и теплым общением монахов и прихожан.

On January 12, the Church celebrated the week after the Nativity of Christ. On this Sunday, in addition to the Sunday stichera of the 4th tone, the Church especially commemorated the Holy Prophet and King David, the Righteous Joseph the Betrothed, and Saint James, the Apostle and Brother of the Lord (the son of Joseph from his first marriage).

The day before, on Saturday, Hieromonk Arkadii and Deacon Alexander celebrated the All-Night Vigil. During the Vigil, through stichera, canons, and other hymns, the Church glorified the Lord Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem and risen from the dead. The holy King David, the Righteous Joseph, and the Apostle James, who was the first bishop of Jerusalem, were also honored.

The words of the Christmas Canon’s katavasia, “Christ is born—glorify Him!” sung in the Volyn chant, sounded especially solemn and moving. The liturgical hymns were performed by Archimandrite Stefan and Hierodeacon Paisios.

The All-Night Vigil concluded with the singing of Christmas carols, glorifying the newborn Christ Child.

The Sunday began with an Akathist to the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God, served by Hieromonk Arkadii. At the end of the Akathist, he anointed all the faithful with holy oil.

The Divine Liturgy was led by the rector of the church, Archimandrite Stefan, with the concelebration of the monastery deacons, Fathers Paisios and Alexander. On this day, the Gospel reading commemorated the first martyrs for Christ—the infants slain by King Herod’s soldiers. Archimandrite Stefan delivered a sermon on this Gospel theme at the end of the Liturgy.

After the service, the brethren congratulated everyone on the Christmas feast and presented small sweet gifts to all in attendance. The festive service concluded with a communal meal and warm fellowship between the monks and parishioners.
